What to expect in your initial assessment

Please allow 60-minutes for your initial TMJ appointment

During your appointment you can expect​

  • A thorough case taking assessment including, symptoms, lifestyle, dental history, stress & injury history.

  • Physical assessment of your jaw, neck and posture. Including range of motion and muscle/joint function.

  • The clinician may request you bring along your current pillow and any mouthguard/splints you may use.

  • A personalised treatment plan, which may include gentle hands-on therapy, posture strategies, relaxation techniques, and jaw retraining.​​

  • Access to a personalised home exercise program via app, so you can continue progress between sessions.

  • Support with long-term management, including identifying triggers and coordinating care with your dentist, GP, or wider health team if needed.
     

This session is designed to give you a clear understanding of your condition, hands-on relief where appropriate, and a practical plan for recovery.
