At Move Sports Physiotherapy, in Central Geelong & Geelong West we understand how important hands-on work can be to assist you to come back from injury,  recover from soreness and get you moving again.

What is Remedial Massage?

Think of remedial massage as a targeted TLC session for your muscles. Unlike a relaxation massage (although we can definitely incorporate some of that!), remedial massage focuses on working out those tight spots, addressing pain points, and improving your range of motion.

Here's what you can expect at MOVE:

  • A personalised approach: We'll chat with you about any specific concerns you have, whether it's back pain, headaches, sports injuries, or just general tension.

  • Tailored techniques: Our therapists use a variety of techniques to address your needs, from deep tissue work to trigger point therapy and myofascial release.

  • Feel the difference: Walk out feeling looser, lighter, and with a newfound spring in your step (and maybe a smile on your face!).

Hands on Care

During our sessions we may use the following techniques :

  • Remedial massage and sports massage techniques

  • Trigger point therapy

  • Nerve pain release techniques

  • Myofascial release techniques

  • Passive tissue tensioning techniques

  • Muscle energy techniques

  • PNF (Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation)

  • Active release technique

  • Relaxation massage techniques to aid recovery from central fatigue (nervous system burnout)

  • Pain relief: Say goodbye to aches and tightness!

  • Improved flexibility: Move with more ease and confidence.

  • Increased circulation: Boost your energy levels and feel revitalized.

  • Reduced stress and anxiety: Because a relaxed body leads to a calmer mind.

  • Faster injury recovery: Get back to doing what you love, quicker.

Central Geelong Locations & After Hours Appointments:

  • We have convenient locations in Newtown,  & Geelong West, located right in Central Geelong, so you can find the perfect spot to unwind and recharge.

  • We also offer weekend and afterhours appointments to ensure you can get the care you need.

At MOVE we use our clinical reasoning to talk through our findings to help you move again in your way.  During this, we will be looking for you to explain what you’re feeling so we can gain an understanding of your injury and provide a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. If we deem it appropriate, we will write a referral or letters to your treatment team.

After the session, we will provide you with a full summary of our findings and our recommendations to help you move forward.    This may include a tailored exercise program and access to a fitness app post the session.
